Hubby and I had dinner at Rocky Point Resort today. Hubby wanted the Pasta Alfredo with chicken but our waitress informed us they were out of chicken. So he had the Fish and Chips instead. He said his fish was nice, it was a large portion, good breading not at all greasy. He enjoyed it. I ordered the Ceasars salad and I wanted chicken but as previously mentioned, no chicken available today. Then I found out there was no romaine lettuce either. So I tweaked my order, had the Ceasars salad with their spring greens and shrimp instead. My salad tasted good but the greens were a little wilted and completely drowned in dressing. Luckily Hubby had a side salad come with his order that the waitress brought without the raspberry vinegrette he asked for. She never brought the vinegrette so after several minutes I took his salad and mixed it with my salad to balance the greens/dressing ratio. We were seated at a table next to the big windows near the lake shore so we got to watch kayakers trying to catch fish while fish jumped out of the water 20 ft away from them. That's endlessly amusing :). While I was watching that I did notice that the windows and the rest of the place can use a real thoroughly cleaning. Since the place is open Fri-Sun I'm guessing someone with a few hours on their hands could wash the windows and wipe down the sills etc. I'll end on a positive note, before the meal the waitress brought bread and spiced olive oil to our table. That was very very yummy. The scenery of lake is beautiful too. The scenery is worth the drive, maybe next time I'll just order dessert :) I hear they have delicious desserts :)

This review is for the restaurant. Very rude especially Roxanna (server). I doubt they know the meaning of customer service. Been coming here with my family for 15 years and we come for the atmosphere. Very sad to see this level of poor service. Food is marginal but that's not why we come here. I definitely would not recommend the restaurant based on my how they treated me and my family. Very sad. I doubt they have any loyal customers left.

This review is for the restaurant. Had to wait 40 min to get my order taken with 3 waitresses working and only 3 tables sat in the house. Roxanne was the waitress....when we questioned the length of time she was rude, refused to take our order, claimed the wait was due to a reservation of 4. In 40 minutes you can't take two orders...dear God help us all. Had to wait another 10 min for another waitress to come take our order. Lauren the second waitress was very nice. Sorry she has to deal with the other unprofessional women's mess. We live in area and have eaten in this restaurant for 30 years....this was a truly sad and disappointing experience.

We rented cabin #4, two nights ago. We paid $140. I've stayed at motels for half that price that made feel less dirty. I'm sure they tried their best to make it as nice as possible... So I feel bad for the negative review. But it's just not good and people planning a trip there should know what they're signed up for. The shower is 3 x 3 and its plastic and the fixture was I stalled upside down and is confusing. There was a creature trapped in the crawl space all night long and scratching in the ceiling. The bedspreads were (no exaggeration) 30 years old as were the frames. The refrigerator gurgled and hissed all night long which was IN the same room where we were sleeping. We didn't sleep a wink!! There's people camped on top of each other and amongst heaping overflowing dumpsters and people smoking. We ate at the restaurant where one person was responsible for all the tables and the bartender just ignored everyone waiting for tables. It's really too bad. The geographical location could be something special. We will never go there again.

Ate dinner here tonight - just OK. I had the shrimp on skewers - 9 shrimp, which was nice, but they were hard to chew - overcooked. My husband's ribeye was tasty but nothing special. The setting is wonderful, with a view of the water, and the service was fine, but probably won't go back.

This review is for the canoe rental. They were great! New management was very friendly. The canoe is $10 per hour, but $20 for 4 hours. It was new and clean. It has a little store where you can buy snacks and bottles of beer and had no problem with us bringing our own can of corona on the lake. Very pretty area, would return.

The resort is nothing special. We just went there to rent kayaks, of which they don't have many (one double, two singles when we stopped by). The kayaks are very basic, not nearly as nice as what we have back home, but they work. The lake is great. The easiest paddling I have done all year. The water was very calm and barely a breeze. The water is crystal clear. We could see the lake bottom a couple meters down. And we're paddling right next to a Wildlife refuge. We saw an egret, a family of Pelicans (in Pelican Bay appropriately) and some unidentified birds. And then there are some great mountain views. (See the pics). We paid $20 each for one hour in a kayak and then picnic-ed at some tables by the boat dock. The resort has a restaurant, but they weren't open on Monday. (The menu didn't look very accommodating to vegetarians anyway). I might consider staying there, but I would probably bring my own kayak if I wanted to do a day tour.

Best little spot on Oregon's largest lake! We spent 3 days of our month long RV trip at Rocky Point Resort & absolutely loved it! If we wouldn't have already had our entire trip pre-booked I would have opted for a few more days there. It was quiet & clean with great accommodations. The restaurant has an amazing view of the lake. Very nice restrooms & showers. Derrick & Ariane were both wonderful hosts who went above & beyond to make us feel welcome & comfortable. We rented one of their motor boats & had an awesome day cruising around the lake finding the springs & soaking up the sun. We saw a bald eagle as soon as we left the dock & heard or saw a fish jump at least every 2 minutes. I will definitely be back sometime in the near future when I need to relax by the lake again.

New onsite mgmt, Sondra & Todd, are friendly, helpful and simply great people representing a great property. After a few years hiatus due to previous onsite mgmt we were greeted with a genuine smile and offer to help in any way. We asked if they had any firewood and when we arrived a nicely stacked bundle of wood sat at our campsite. Since we were checking in late on a Friday for duck hunting they said enjoy your morning and we'll settle up on the paperwork in the afternoon. They're hard workers and are excited to make everyone's time away from home as comfortable and relaxing as possible. Thanks Sondra & Todd! We'll be back!

The worst ever! Mean nasty unfriendly people run this place and have made it so we will never go back. We own a cabin nearby and make sure to tell everyone we know to save their money and not support the resort until the management changes. They don't like kids or animals.

This is one of our favorite stops on our Southern Oregon trips. The motel rooms are very basic but we appreciate having the minifridge and microwave. Probably 1950's vintage but as clean and comfortable as can be. Love the view from the restaurant and have eaten there 3 times this trip. Service is friendly. Excellent Old Fashioned cocktail from the bar. Great steaks. One night the green salads were fresh and well prepared, the next busy night, less so. Like many places, food was great when the not too busy but suffered a bit when slammed. We appreciated the welcoming staff and their efforts to make it right. Best to have reservations to assure getting served. This is a superb place to bird from the restaurant deck overlooking the low bushes below the deck and trees surrounding the resort. Folks don't mind us using the deck at all. Overall, thumbs up!

Took my family camping to Rocky Point Resort last week. Booked in advance based on a handful of reviews I'd read online. I don't know if the place has changed ownership since these reviews were written, but it ended up being a MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT!! The campsites were FILTHY, unmaintained and cramped. When my wife politely brought the state of our site to the attention of the management (who only made themselves available the day AFTER we arrived) she was told that the grounds were managed by a husband and wife team and they just didn't have time to go from site to site picking up. Rocky Point has a total of 5 tent sites. We ended our stay early, forfeited the cost of the rest of the stay (they would not refund) and moved on. There are plenty of great sites in the area. Please don't waste your money!

I don't know if we visited the restaurant on an off night or if it's always this way...We tried it on a Thursday night, we had reservations, but sure didn't need them. Only a handful of people were there. We were given menus and the four of us all knew what we'd order. The waitress came to take our orders and said they were out of a lot of items. Turns out, everything we each wanted was not available. Back to the drawing board. There were 6 or 7 items not available, leaving not many choices left. It seems that "someone" had to go to town, 25 miles away, to pick up supplies. Well, they must've stopped off for a few drinks because the supplies never arrived! We noticed that customers sitting near us ordered burgers, which were immediately sent back to the kitchen. Not a good sign! So, two people in our party ordered burgers since there was almost nothing left on the menu. Both burgers came back wrong. One was supposed to have BBQ sauce which they were out of. He ordered mayo instead. No mayo, dry as a bone. One was supposed to have garlic fries, the other regular fries. They were switched, had to be fixed. One order was a chicken dish. The chicken was dry. Every time we asked the waitress for something she forgot to bring it. She was new so could be forgiven. Had a hard time leaving a tip this time! This is the only restaurant within 25 miles available for dinner. We were staying at Harriman Springs Resort and their restaurant is not yet open for dinner. Next time, if we ever stay there again, (see my Harriman review) we'll BBQ at our trailer!

Enjoyed our stay here very much. The people were so friendly and welcoming. We stayed here coz we wanted to see Crater Lake. I took advantage of taking the kids and hubby for their first camping, and yes they all enjoyed it!!! They want to go camping every year now. Yay!!! We went canoeing and fishing here at Upper Klamath Lake where this resort is located. That was very convenient --- boat rentals, canoes , kayaks are available in this facility. I suggest you reserve coz they go pretty fast. And when you do, show up on time to pick up coz they'll give it away. This camp site is pretty clean , even their shower / bathroom facility. The restaurant food is okay, but the view is beautiful and calming. I definitely recommend this place. Will come back again if I get a chance.

This is a lake side motel and camp that is good for fishing, over night stop in route to other destinations or a canoe/bird watching outing. The owners could improve the ambiance significantly; remove the faded artificial flower baskets, remove the pile of wood and rusty nails that once was a boat from the store entrance(liability and just sad) stop stapling signs to the nice knotty pine room walls. We didn't eat at the restaurant as it was closed for the season, a good restaurant is Lake if the Woods 10 miles away though.

We had a great time there. Lots to see and do if you like birding, canoeing or hiking. The resort is very clean and quiet. If you have a dog, be sure to keep it on leash. Not much flexibility there and you might end up sideways with the owner. Other than that, the owners are very helpful and accomodating.

I don't know the young couples name who manage the daily operations of the resort, but they were wonderful! ****** My wife and I took our daughter fishing and rented a boat for few hours. Well, it was supposed to be for a few hours. We got lost, still not sure how, but we did. The couple who ran the front office were so nice to us before, during, and after we got lost. We were THAT family that made things tough and I wouldn't blame them for laughing at us, but they didn't. Lost on the lake and the young man brought us out more gas for our boat! Got us back safely to the resort and then something really amazing happened. The young man wouldn't accept a tip for coming to our rescue. Said his dad taught him to never accept cash from anyone. I came away with a little bit of a sunburn from being on the lake for over 5 hrs; but I really came away with a wonderful appreciation for a wonderful 'staff' that cares and treats people right. Thank you!
